Gates Alternator Overrunning or Decoupler Pulleys are perfect for giving vibration isolation within the accessory belt drive system. Their patented design provides improved engine performance, with smoother, quieter and more efficient engine running.

Alternator decoupler pulleys are based on the latest driveline technology that allow the alternator to coast when the engine is decelerating via a one-way clutch built into the pulley. This clutch mechanism then engages the alternator during acceleration and normal driving conditions to provide electrical charge. In most cases a specific tool is required to remove and install Overrunning decoupler pulleys.
ADP's typically have a life similar to other accessory belt components and should be checked for signs of wear over 80,000km.
