The crank sensor (also referred to as a crank angle sensor, crank position sensor or crank pulse sensor) works in unison with the camshaft position sensor to determine the position of the camshaft in relation to the crankshaft. This info is transmitted to your ECU and then communicated to the injectors and ignition system so that the correct cylinders are firing at the correct time.
